Missions:
Missions are group-wide events that will take place regularly. Each mission will require a high level of planning from the Lead running it. These missions will be complex and could take several hours to RP. Every mission will have the opportunity to enhance or worsen life on the LSS, depending on the outcome. Chances to earn RP rewards are high for individuals and the group. Many missions will directly involve acquiring much-needed supplies and components. As such, this is where you will be most likely to receive access to major specialized items like new suits, weapons, tech knowledge, tools, etc. The rewards can be something picked up in bulk at the end of the mission, or something found by an individual through RP at any point during the session.
Missions will be announced no later than a week in advance to provide ample awareness for everyone wishing to participate. Scavenging/salvage, trade, exploration, maintenance, repelling invaders, piracy are just some examples of mission themes.
Note: Missions may be run by a mod who guides the RP rather than actively playing their character for the duration of the task.
Quests:
There will be daily quests that crew members will be encouraged to participate in. These are to ensure the smooth running of the station. Failure to carry out daily quests can have dire consequences not only for yourself, but your crew members. Teamwork is key!
Leads are responsible for creating regular tasks for their crews, and these will be posted and updated in the RP channel of discord. All tasks/quests that are completed should be RP’d and once again posted to the same channel, marked for the attention of the crew leader. Crew members are encouraged to engage with crew Leads to formulate new quests in order to improve the experience for everyone aboard the space station.
Quests can range from a simple security patrol to harvesting new produce; from repairing the mainframe computers to ensuring the oxygen system is in full working order; cleaning detritus to salvaging items for the workshop. Most will be simple, requiring few posts, but designed to spark wider RP. Crew members are free to ask others for assistance on quests as a means of broadening RP. There will be something for everyone.
Every quest outcome has a consequence whether good, or bad.
Daily Button Quest & Crew Competition:
One of the most important quests is ‘The Button’. No-one is quite sure why this is important, it simply is… for the wellbeing of the entire space station. Failure to complete this task will cause catastrophic damage, perhaps irreparable in some circumstances! This is an ongoing, daily and weekly quest. The lives of everyone depend on this seemingly meaningless task.
You are quested to find said button and note its location. There is one button hidden on the station. It may be small, it may be large but it is the guarantee of another day. There may be decoy buttons, there may be many buttons...but there is only one right button to press. This quest will change daily with a final tally at the end of the week.
The goal is simple. Find the right button and push it.
General information:
This is a scavenger hunt, in order to get the crew and intake oriented around the station. Buttons will be placed at random spots around the LSS. Some will be decoys. Some quests can also have just 1 button hidden.
Finding the button must be roleplayed and accompanied by a gyazo or other form of proof of the precise location. Hints may be provided.
