Disaster strikes La Lune Parish once again, this time at the Motel where an explosion was heard at 2:06pm, the rooms set ablaze and multiple tenants were forced to find other accommodation. The call came in to the fire station and according to local Fire Chief Joe Glenberry, he and his team were on the scene by 2:24pm to begin an immediate evacuation of the motel and the surrounding area. After nearly an hour of battling the flames, the fire was out by 3:20pm, there was only one casualty and no other civilian injuries but Fire Chief Joe was thrown 8 feet from the initial explosion and suffered a dislocated arm after he grabbed the railing to stop his fall, the only other injured firefighter was one of the probies that had sustained some injuries and needed to be taken to the hospital. When asked how the fire was started, the station was able to confirm that there were 2 explosive devices found in the room that had taken the brunt of the damage. While not ruling out a terrorist involvement, the bombing has possible links to the increase in gang and cartel activity, local authorities urge citizens to stay alert and report any suspicious activities to the police.
